Every checkpoint time is drawn from cryptographically secure randomness (crypto.getRandomValues), which means every participant has an exactly equal chance of winning — no lane advantage, no name-order bias, nothing you can game. - Is the race outcome truly random and fair?
- Yes. Every racer's time between checkpoints is drawn independently from crypto.getRandomValues, the browser's cryptographically secure random number generator — the same class of randomness used for security keys. Each participant has an identical distribution of checkpoint times, so each has an exactly equal probability of winning. Lane position, name order, and name length have zero effect on the result.
- How is Nitro Drag Race different from the classic Car Race?
- The classic Car Race is a flat side-view where cars slide left-to-right in lanes. Nitro Drag Race is a chase-cam night race: you watch the pack from behind on a perspective road that converges to a glowing horizon, with neon billboards and light poles rushing past. Cars visibly fire their nitro when they draw a fast sector, checkpoint gantries flash live split standings, and the finish is a checkered gantry the leader dives under — a completely different way to watch the same fair draw.
- What do the nitro flames mean?
- The race is split into randomly-timed sectors. When a car draws a fast sector time, its nitro visibly ignites and it surges toward the horizon — the flame is a live display of the actual random draw, not decoration. A car coasting without flames in one sector can light up in the next, which is why the lead keeps changing hands right up to the finish.
- How many racers can I add?
- You can race 2 to 50 names at once. With up to 16 racers every car carries a name tag; in bigger fields the cars carry number plates matching the participant list and the current leader gets a flag tag, keeping even a 50-car launch readable. For maximum drama, 4–10 racers is the sweet spot.
- Can I run tournaments or elimination rounds?
- Yes — the Settings panel has all the classic race modes. Elimination retires each race winner so every round crowns someone new until the field is empty. Best of 3/5/7 runs a series where the first racer to reach the majority of wins becomes champion. Predict Winner lets everyone lock in a guess before the launch, and the session leaderboard tracks wins across every race you run.
